The WRUW fundraiser was a huge success! Our goal for Sunday Matinee was to raise $2000 or more in honor of the show’s 20th anniversary … and we did it!

Our donors pledged $2,593! Wow! That makes Sunday Matinee one of the top 3 shows for the fundraiser!

After all the totalling was done, I threw in a donation of $155, bringing us up to $2,748. (I wanted one of the WRUW button down shirts, a baseball cap, and a pint glass.)

Thanks to everyone who called or donated online. I appreciate your support of the show, and of the station that makes the show possible. Your monies are earmarked to buy more showtunes for us to play, and to buy more equipment to improve the air signal and the internet stream.

During the show we had donations from the following locations:

• Washington, DC
• Palo Alto, CA
• Oak Park, Illinois
• Columbia, MD
• My parents in Maryland
• and various cities around Northeast Ohio

This is the only week out of the year we ask the community for it’s support (unlike NPR or PBS), so it’s a pretty big deal.

If you missed the live on-air event, you can still donate online through WRUW’s website. Make sure you earmark your donation for Sunday Matinee during the online process, and be sure to select some of the really cool WRUW logo stuff as our thank you for your donation.
